The creation of Nuru Association 1 was born from witnessing the challenges faced by immigrants, including employment barriers, language difficulties, and the overwhelming task of starting over. What began as a vision became a reality on December 8, 2025, when Nuru Association 1 was officially registered as a Canadian Charity. Even in these early days, we have seen the impact of guidance, support, and community.
Empower newcomers and immigrants in Canada, especially children, youth, and single mothers, by providing pathways out of poverty through education, mental health support, cultural integration, and community belonging.
A Canada where every newcomer family , regardless of where they come from or how little they arrive with , has an equal opportunity to thrive , contribute, and belong.
Every person deserves , respect , regardless of status or origin.
We remove barriers, not just provide charity
We develop capacity, not dependency
We serve all families in all their diversity.
We believe change is possible for everyone we serve.
